The Top 4 Places to Visit in NI for Christmas

Unwrapping the Best of Northern Ireland at Christmas

If you're thinking to yourself: I need somewhere fun, festive and different to go this Christmas, this post is for you! We should just delve straight in to the top 4 places you need to visit in Northern Ireland around this festive season...

1. Belfast Christmas Market

I am not the best person to give a food review for the Belfast Christmas Market- seeing as I went last year while I was violently ill with the cold and therefore couldn't taste anything. But I will do my best to give you the rundown of this years Christmas Market.

Firstly, the Christmas Market is the place to be for some truly exquisite foods from all over the world- including Kangaroo burgers, paella, Dutch Pancakes, just to name a few. You are sure to find something.

Moving on over to the rides- you'll have the chance to unleash your inner child on the famous Helter-Skelter and carousel that give fantastic views of Belfast city!

And lastly, a range of delightful small businesses selling everything from jewellery, clothes, soaps, artwork and much more.

There is truly something for everyone at the Belfast Christmas Market!

2. Enchanted Gardens- Antrim

Probably should be Number 1 on this list because this experience is truly one of a kind. Words can't describe how much there is to experience at the Enchanted Winter Gardens in Antrim. From the attractions, the festive food stalls and the stunning lights displays at the Wonderland Woods. A place I cannot wait to visit for myself. And did I mention its dog friendly? Everyone is welcome at this enchanting experience.

3. Christmas at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens

Third on our list is the gorgeous Hillsborough Castle. Similar to the Antrim Gardens Christmas experience, Hillsborough brings you festive light displays, shimmering woodlands and twinkling lights, perfect for a festive day out.

Currently, the castle is running a 'Walking with the Snowman' exhibit for families or just fans of the 1982 classic.

4. The Giant's Causeway

A place I have yet to visit myself at during Christmas, but after researching their Christmas events I am excited to see! The Giants Causeway all year round is a fantastic experience. I visited years ago with my family and have wanted to go back ever since. At Christmas, they go all out. The iconic basalt columns are dusted with layers of snow or frost, the big screen is on featuring iconic Christmas movies in the café and you'll even have the opportunity to create your own personal Christmas ornament. You won't want to miss this truly unique Christmas experience!
